Reverse Discrimination Is Often Ignored

I began living in San Antonio, Texas, in 1973 after leaving military service. At that time, San Antonio was a good place to live, and that is why my parents decided to reside there after my father retired from military service.

The Hispanic population was a minority population, along with African-American and other races. The crime rate was low, and it was safe to go out on the town at night without fear of being robbed, assaulted, shot at, murdered, raped, and so forth.

I moved to Southern California and lived there for eleven years. California’s Hispanic population was much greater than in San Antonio. I frequently worked with Hispanics as well as spending much leisure time with them and other races. I never had even one complaint related to discrimination. Not one.

Then in 1990 I returned to San Antonio. Wow. What a shock it was.

The Hispanic population had grown to be near a majority, and by 2005 it was the majority population. Today, 2015, the Hispanic population [the last I heard on the radio] is approximately 75% Hispanic. This is no longer a U.S. city. It is a Mexican city.

Almost immediately I experienced what I had never experienced previously: discrimination based on my race.

The two main problems/complaints I have with Hispanics, mostly Mexican immigrants and what is called “TexMex” residents, is 1) they have forgotten (or ignore) there are TEN commandments, not nine, and 2) their blatant, unashamed, and hateful discrimination and racist actions against Anglos, which is usually replaced with the pejorative “gringo”.

There is an atmosphere of hatred against Anglos in this city. Almost every business or government organization is populated by a majority of what I call Mexicans, and they are in controlling positions, positions of power.

I repeatedly have had hateful lies told about me for no other reason than to get me into trouble. That is against God’s commandment “Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.” But Mexicans don’t seem to give a damn about that commandment.

Which brings to mind the Catholic belief of the Confessional. Catholics believe they can sin and be absolved of that sin in the Confessional. They say a few “Our Fathers” and/or “Hail Mary’s” and they walk out with a clean soul—so they think.

The true idea of the Confessional is that when you ask for forgiveness you vow to avoid that sin again. However, Catholics, especially Mexican Catholics, think they can commit the same sin again and again and again and again—and be absolved every time they visit the Confessional.

I believe, and rightly so, God is going to forgive them the first time they commit a sin. Then the second time God will say something like, “Okay. I forgave you once, but you went out and did it again. I will forgive one more time, but remember—you vow to not commit it again.”

Then the third time a Mexican goes into the Confessional for the same sin, God will say something like, “No, I will not forgive you this time, because your heart is not sincere. You just go out and do the same thing again. You don’t mean it when you say you’re sorry and won’t do it again. So, you are not deserving of forgiveness.”

Yet, the priest tells the sinner to say a few more “Hail Mary’s” and “Our Fathers”, then tells the sinner they are, again, absolved. What the Hell does the priest know? He is a fool.

So, the cycle continues. Sin. Confessional. Sin. Confessional. And so on.

Then we get back to the hatred of gringos and the racist discrimination of gringos.

It is everywhere in San Antonio. You can’t escape it. Yet, people do not believe it or refuse to do anything about it.

A racist organization

A racist organization

It is the same in the San Antonio Housing Authority, which is primarily staffed by Hispanics. SAHA receives federal funding, so you would think the federal government (HUD, actually) would be concerned with such discrimination. Not so.

Even its Secretary is a Mexican

Even its Secretary is a Mexican

You see, most of the HUD staff is also Hispanic. Are you getting the idea here?

The apartment complex I live in is staffed by three Hispanics. Mexicans, I prefer to call them. The majority of residents here are also Mexicans. Mexican residents get away with practically every violation of the lease with no punishment, no warning, no “lease violations”.

Yet, let a gringo violate the lease or not even violate it just come close to a violation or be seen as a possible violation and all Hell descends upon that gringo.

The Mexican woman who lives above me has blatantly violated the lease every day for more than a year. That is more than 365 lease violations. Yet, it is entirely ignored.

However, should I do anything that even appears to be a violation, even though it is not, the damn Mexicans who “manage” this complex descend upon me like evil spirits seeking to drag my soul to Hell.

I put manage in quotations, because they are incompetent managers and do not manage the complex the way it should be managed.

I recently received a “lease violation” that was completely false, a lie, and since it was in writing it becomes libel.

I called the managers’ supervisor in SAHA headquarters, but he seemed unmoved. I was told there is an Ombudsman, Vanessa Chavez (another Mexican), who mediates problems with residents, and “she is not biased” in any way, so this guy Mr. David Clark told me.

I told David Clark during a phone conversation that I had two witnesses who told me they saw what happened, and what was in the lease violation was false, a lie. Therefore, I wanted the lease violation removed from my file and a letter stating the violation was removed and there is no reference whatsoever to it.

He said he’d take it into consideration.

I telephoned this Ombudsman nine times and left a message each time, because no one answered the phone. She has not returned any of my calls/messages.

I am being ignored. So much for “not biased”.

Most of the residents here are elderly and/or disabled. We are a “necessary evil” for SAHA. Since they receive federal money for housing they must accommodate us. And we are mostly ignored. I guess they don’t get as much money as they do from younger and employed residents.

I have contacted all the TV stations and the newspaper, The San Antonio Express-News, but not one—not ONE of them responded.

No one from SAHA has contacted me. This entire matter of racism against Anglos and this piece of libel written falsely accusing me of a lease violation is being completely ignored by SAHA. Of course, it is. Mexicans have been accused of libel and racism, so nothing will be done about it.

I have a list of a number of agencies to contact and the federal prosecutor downtown in the Federal Courthouse, and I have definite plans on my “To Do” list to contact them all.

SOMEONE must listen. SOMEONE must step in on my behalf. You think? Isn’t there anyone who believes reverse discrimination exists and that Anglos/gringos in San Antonio are being hatefully discriminated against?

This is making me physically ill. It often makes my hands shake. It upsets my stomach. It affects my ability to sleep. It hangs over me every minute of the day. I feel trepidation. I am angry. I despise the Mexicans here and at SAHA.

I despise them for their racism, discrimination, complacency, threats, intimidation, and refusal to even listen to me and my complaint(s).

What a difference Texas Mexicans are from California Mexicans. Mexicans here in Texas believe Texas belongs to Mexico, not the U.S.A.

They hate us. They discriminate against us. They control us. And they will do anything they can to make the lives of gringos a living Hell.

And they are succeeding, because 1) no one believes the gringos and 2) no one is willing to step in and stop this hateful racism.

If you are an Anglo I advise you not to consider moving to San Antonio, because if you do it won’t be long before you see EXACTLY what I’m writing about.

The Mexicans will descend upon you just like they did me—seeking to make this life your Hell.
